How to use our Comma Counter

To get started, enter some text in the text-box above either by typing or by pasting. The comma count will update automatically.

For convenience, there is a green "Copy Text" button that will copy all the text in the text-box when clicked.

Below that, is a word count and letter count box.

Why are commas important?

A comma is a punctation mark that plays an important role in organizing text into making it more readable. Commas can even change the meaning of text.

Consider the phrases, "Let's eat, people!" versus "Let's eat people!". One is telling a group of people that it is time to eat, the other is suggesting cannibalism.
