        SYS3175 in OS2MM.DLL Error Message Installing OS/2 Warp

DESCRIPTION

The SYS3175 error message occurs during installation:

* When using Selective Install

* After the message, "Initializing Installation program...." and before
  the System Configuration screen

The display shows the following information:

   ***************** SYS3175 32-bit *****************

    A program generated an access violation at 17xx930c
    OS2MM.DLL 0001:000x930C.
       .
       .
       .
    CS:EIP=005B:17xx930c
       .
       .
       .
   ***************** SYS3175 32-bit End *************

(x is a variable and can be any value.)

If CS:EIP parameter ends with 930c, the problem is fixed in the latest 
available OS/2 Warp FixPak.

RESOLUTION

Download the latest OS/2 FixPak and LDF.COM.

Notes:

* To install the FixPak, you must be at the General Availability (GA)
  level of code, XR03000, or later. To determine the current Corrective
  Service Diskette (CSD) level of your system, go to an OS/2 command
  prompt; then type SYSLEVEL and press Enter.

* You will need PKUNZIP.EXE or UNZIP.EXE to extract files.

Downloading FixPak Files from the Internet

If you have access to Internet services, you can download FixPaks using
the following methods:

* Anonymous FTP to ftp.software.ibm.com (IP Address 198.17.57.67).
  FixPaks are in the /PS/PRODUCTS/OS2/FIXES directory.

* World Wide Web (WWW) access via IBM Software Manufacturing Services at
  ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com. 

  The full address is:
  ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/ps/products/os2/fixes.

Downloading FixPak Files from the IBM PCC BBS
---------------------------------------------
Dial the IBM PCC BBS at 919-517-0001. If you cannot connect to this 
number, contact your local IBM branch office.
