Symptoms:
	PHCO_23891:
	1. ed(1) doesn't work as expected with = operator.

	2. ed(1) operator .= gives incorrect output when UNIX95 set.

	3. ed(1) core dumps on file containing (n)k - 2 lines.

	PHCO_11437:
	1. ed(1) fails to handle multiple instances of
	   SIGHUP signal.

	2. ed(1) has inconsistencies in the 'G' command.
	   (UNIX95 Behavior)

Defect Description:
	PHCO_23891:
	1. ed(1) doesn't work as expected with = operator.
	   After the current line for the file in the
	   buffer has been changed, = and $= displays
	   the current line number instead of the last line.
	Resolution:
	   Code is modified to correct the behavior.

	2. ed(1) operator .= gives incorrect output when UNIX95
	   set. The operator .= behaves wrongly, once operator
	   = or $= is used.
	Resolution:
	   The behaviour of .= operator is rectified after setting
	   the current line.

	3. ed(1) core dumps on file containing (n)k - 2 lines. If
	   a line is added to a file having (n)k - 2 lines, and
	   then delete for the current line is performed on it,
	   ed(1) dumps core.
	Resolution:
	   Code is modified to correct the behavior.

	PHCO_11437:
	1. ed(1) fails to handle multiple instances of SIGHUP
	   signal.
	Resolution:
	   Now, ed(1) signal handler handles multiple instances
	   of SIGHUP signal.

	2. ed(1) has inconsistencies in the 'G' command.
	   (UNIX95 Behaviour)
	Resolution:
	   Code is modified to handle the inconsistencies.

	1. Back up your system before installing a patch.

	2. Login as root.

	3. Copy the patch to the /tmp directory.

	4. Move to the /tmp directory and unshar the patch:

		cd /tmp
		sh PHCO_23891

	5a. For a standalone system, run swinstall to install the
	    patch:

		swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x match_target=true \
			-s /tmp/PHCO_23891.depot

	By default swinstall will archive the original software in
	/var/adm/sw/patch/PHCO_23891.  If you do not wish to retain a
	copy of the original software, you can create an empty file
	named /var/adm/sw/patch/PATCH_NOSAVE.

	WARNING: If this file exists when a patch is installed, the
	         patch cannot be deinstalled.  Please be careful
		 when using this feature.

	It is recommended that you move the PHCO_23891.text file to
	/var/adm/sw/patch for future reference.

	To put this patch on a magnetic tape and install from the
	tape drive, use the command:

		dd if=/tmp/PHCO_23891.depot of=/dev/rmt/0m bs=2k
