DESCRIPTION: WMI Mapper for HP systems Insight Manager, version 1.2

The WMI Mapper makes it possible to retrieve WMI instrumented data on
a Windows machine via WBEM requests. This is particularly useful when
Windows machines are being managed from an HP-UX or Linux version of
HP Systems Insight Manager (which cannot communicate via WMI). The
Windows version of HP Systems Insight Manager installs this WMI Mapper
locally so that it can make WMI requests across the network to the devices
without the need to install the WMI Mapper on the managed Windows devices.

This softpack allows the the WMI Mapper to be installed on any Microsoft
Windows supported system to facilitate the proxy requests (does not have to
be on the HP Systems Insight Manager server itself). Once installed, browse
into HP Systems Insight Manager and specify on the Options/Global Settings/
WMI Mapper Proxy setting and specify the server now running the WMI Mapper.

NOTE: The WMI Mapper only needs to be installed on at least one system on the
network - all managed nodes do NOT need this to be installed on the systems.
The only reason to install the WMI Mapper on more than one system would
be to facilitate the proxy on a regional basis or a similar setup.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files and
   install the product.

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.
