This contains the Hitachi DK23CA-xx Hard Drive Firmware Update Utility, Version A0J2,
which includes the files necessary to create either a bootable diskette or a bootable CD
to be used with the notebook models listed below.

NOTE: This Softpaq contains the same firmware version that was released previously in
Softpaq SP23846. This Softpaq contains changes that allow it to run on affected
HP Omnibook and Pavilion notebooks as well as Compaq Armada and Evo brands.

To determine your hard drive model, open Windows Device Manager and look in the Disk Drives
folder. The hard drive manufacturer and model will be listed there.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename
based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. The softpaq contains both a utility to create a bootable diskette or a bootable CD.

4. Launch the QRSTBATCH.BAT file to create the diskette

Use the included HFW_A0J2.ISO file to burn a bootable CD using a CD-R/RW
drive and CD Writer software.
