Testing that was taking upto 5 hours per drive can now be done in ten minutes. NOTES: Note: When running on a headless server using the virtual floppy it is necessary to run the virtual disk with the read only check box NOT selected. Also Note: This version does NOT support the 64-bit/133-Mhz PCI-X Dual Channel Ultra320 Host Bus Adapter (no support is planned) use Diagnostics for Windows or HP Insight Diagnostics instead. Also Note: There is a known problem with the 4200 controller testing taking longer than needed; the tests still work but they still contain the code that is doing the delay that was fixed for 5i controllers. This was problem was discovered too late for release of a new version and should be fixed in the next release. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number. 2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. Pressing "Space Bar" to confirm the unpacking of files creates a new directory folder in the download directory. The diskette image file, the image extraction tool, are unpacked into this newly created directory. Run the QRST5.exe program to create a diskette. 3. After the Diagnostic diskette has been created, you may delete the self-extracting file downloaded in step one, as well as the directory folder and files created in step two. 4. Go to the system that you want to run Server Diagnostics on and power down the system. 5. Place the newly created Diagnostics diskette in Drive A:, and power up the system. 6. The system should then boot to Compaq Server Diagnostics. 7. Note: that relative paths (\\dir) do not work with the image extracting program, instead absolute paths must be used (drive letter:\dir or c:\).
