DESCRIPTION:  This Softpaq creates a bootable diskette for updating the 
Keyboard Controller ROM in the Presario 80XL models listed above.

It also contains files needed to update the System ROM.

NOTE: The Keyboard Controller ROM Verion 1009 must be updated prior to 
      updating the System ROM.
  
HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq file SP17461.EXE to a temporary folder on your 
hard drive.

2. Execute SP17461.EXE and follow the onscreen instructions to unpack
files into a KBC folder and a ROMPAQ folder that will be created within 
your temporary download folder.

3. Insert a blank, formatted diskette in the target system. 

4. Execute Qrst5.exe in the KBC folder. This creates a bootable diskette 
with tools for upgrading the Keyboard Controller ROM. 

5. Restart the computer using the bootable disk created in step 4 and 
follow the on-screen instructions.  

6. Execute Pre80XL.exe from the ROMPAQ folder and follow the on-screen 
instructions to update the System ROM.

7. Restart the computer.

8. After all installation steps have been successfully completed, you
may delete the temporary download folder if you wish.
