DESCRIPTION: This Softpaq unpacks the files needed to patch the following
Compaq Insight Host Agent DLLs:
   Cqhstutl.dll
   Cpqmhost.dll

This corrects a memory leak issue on the Insight Host Agent (CQMGHOST.EXE)
caused when Microsoft NT 4.0 loses file handles (memory) when closing
the performance registry.

NOTE: This SoftPaq resolves the memory leak by leaving the performance
       registry open.

This, in turn, can cause problems with systems that have magneto
optical or IDE PDCD drives installed. When either of these
devices are present, Windows NT holds the file handle open
indefinitely when CQMGHOST opens it to obtain the root directory system
name of the drive. This results in the inability to perform
operations on open files on that drive, such as formatting
the disk and ejecting the medium out of the drive.

To work around this issue, if a magneto optical or IDE PDCD
drive is detected on the system, this fix closes the
performance registry. It will do this ONLY if either of those
devices are detected on the system. Therefore, the optical
drive or IDE PDCD drive must be removed from the system, or
       the memory leak will persist.

HOW TO USE:

1. Install Compaq Insight Agents Version 4.23 Rev B (SP6236).

2. Stop SNMP service.

3. Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your
hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable
with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

4. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
Enter "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files into this temporary directory.

5. From this temporary directory:
     Copy Cqhsutl.dll into %systemroot%\system32
     Copy Cpqmhost.dll into %systemroot%\system32\cpqmgmt\cqmghost

6. Start SNMP service and Insight Agent services.

7. After the fix has been applied successfully, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 3 if you wish.
