=========================================================================== Title : The Crossroads Filename : crossr.wad Primary purpose : Single Game : Hexen =========================================================================== Author : Matthias (AKA enkeli33) Web site : https://liquiddoom.net/ Email Address : [redacted] =========================================================================== * About * =========================================================================== I created a new vanilla episode/hub for Hexen that contains 6 maps. It's short and rather simple. There are no new graphics (except for the TITLEPIC), sounds, or music. This might seem lazy, but I wanted to stay as close to the original vanilla experience as possible. =========================================================================== * Maps * =========================================================================== Map01 - The Crossroads Map02 - Magma Mao03 - Frostbites Map04 - Dahmer's Lovely Cellar Map05 - Sanctum Map06 - Arena =========================================================================== * Engines, ports and everything * =========================================================================== Vanilla + Chocolate Hexen - I wanted my PWAD to be playable in Vanilla and Chocolate Hexen, but this seems to be more of a utopia. Vanilla becomes very slow in MAP02, and Chocolate sometimes crashes without any error message. Occasionally, there are too many monsters, which causes some sprites to disappear (like during the huge Wendigo fight in MAP03). Additionally, scripts sometimes fail to execute for reasons unknown. Russian Hexen - Unfortunately, this port has a strange bug with player starts. Sometimes the player spawns in a random place on the map, which can be inside a wall, causing the player to get stuck. I'm not sure why this is happening. Perhaps it's a known bug that will be fixed in a future version, but I have no idea. Crispy Hexen - This port works fine, aside from a minor texture disappearing effect on polyobjects, especially in MAP04. But hey, it's finally a vanilla-like port that works. GZDoom - Well, it's GZDoom... it simply works. Yay! =========================================================================== * Music * =========================================================================== I kept the original Hexen music. Only swapped the order. =========================================================================== * Many thanks to * =========================================================================== ID software for creating the Doom Engine and Raven Software for creating the game. Cyberreality for creating the phpbb message board on https://liquiddoom.net/ that I use for chatting with betatesters and sharing things. The creators of Doom Builder 2, Gzdoom Builder and Slade 3. Of course thanks to all players for playing and for all feedback I have received and feedback I will yet receive. =========================================================================== New levels : 6 Sounds : No Music : No Graphics : only TITLE Dehacked Patch : Yes, some data edited inside wad Demos : No Other : No Other files required : HEXEN.WAD =========================================================================== * Play Information * =========================================================================== Game : Hexen Map # : 6 maps Single Player : Designed for Cooperative 2-4 Player : Only some player starts Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Only some player starts Other game styles : No Difficulty Settings : Yes Port : See above =========================================================================== * Construction * =========================================================================== Base : New from scratch Playtesters : none yet Known Bugs : none yet Build Time : A half of year Editor(s) used : Doom Builder 2, Gzdoom Builder, Gimp, MS Paint, Pixlr, Slade 3, Tested With : See above May Not Run With... : See above =========================================================================== * Copyright / Permissions * =========================================================================== I don't belive in copyright.
