Author Info : Oxyde: I'm 35, I work in IT and I love video games, Doom specifically. I also speedrun video games and occasionally comment in speedrun marathons. - Rafael: Just a guy that builds doom maps as a hobby. Description : NT4 is a shortened name for "Necromantic Thirst Map04". Please view more on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxNi5ORYHhI I initially started this level as part of my Vanilium project, a project focused on speedrun accessibility and Nightmare compatibility with simple yet accessible layouts. NT4 was the answer to a sudden lack of inspiration that struck me really hard. The level's scope, size and detail level kept snowballing into something far greater that the other levels of Vanilium, so I decided to release this one standalone. Because the long awaited Necromantic Thirst was finally released to the public, I dug up old files to see how the project evolved and I couldn't help but notice some of my cancelled maps were still solid layouts, so I decided to reuse one of them. NT4 will have you dive deep into a large and very opened technical base. Exploration is very free form and will let you explore at your own pace to take the scenery and architecture. Find all 3 keys to exit, and fight your way through low-to-mid beastiary until an explosive final battle. This level, in the same philosophy as Vanilium, will allow you multiple speedrun routes and possibly Nightmare compatibility, should you be up for the challenge. NT4 also includes a Deathmatch arena designed specifically for this gametype. This arena was initially designed for HBFSN.wad (Happy Birthday WAD for Fsn76), as Map03: King 0-X -- It's mostly suited for duel but 4 players FFA will also work. Additional Credits to : - Rafael2100: The one and only. As I struggled to finish this level, Rafael offered to cleanup and add the finishing touches, pacing fights and setting up clever traps. If it wasn't for him, this level wouldn't exist. - Ch0wW, CorvoDelta, JCD, Gromat, DoomGappy, UberGewei - Authors of the many editing tools that were used in the creation of this level. - Authors of the many sprites and art I've used (Mechadon, KeksDose and many, many others) - Psyrus_ for the midi music (Clandestine) =========================================================================== * What is included * New levels : One new level (replacing Map01) Sounds : Yes Music : Yes Graphics : Yes Dehacked/BEX Patch : Yes Demos : No Other : PALETTE/PLAYPAL Other files required : DOOM2.WAD (obviously) * Play Information * Game : Doom 2 Map # : MAP01 Single Player : Designed for Cooperative 2-4 Player : Designed for Deathmatch 2-4 Player : Designed for Other game styles : Any deathmatch/Duel variant up to 4 players, any Coop/Survival Variant Difficulty Settings : Yes * Construction * Base : Remake of a previously unreleased map Build Time : Oxyde: 6 months on and off / Rafael2100: 6 weeks Editor(s) used : Ultimate Doom Builder, Slade 3, GZDoom Builder, Paint.NET, Audacity Known Bugs : So far no issues have been reported, so if you find anything, please let me know.
